And like you, I use them to gain insight to my own mind because it's my interpretation of the images that matters.
I love your 4 4 4 4 4 method of picking cards. I can do that with my real deck, but not the virtual one I use the most on my phone. I went from using the oh so pretty gorgeous Shadowscape Tarot to the plain looking Rider-Waite set because it's easier for me to interpret them. They have such clear symbols and colors.

Exactly! I do not use the manual that comes with them, because it is my interpretation that matters. I might glance at it occasionally if the cards does not inspire anything to me, but that almost never happens.
I have a lot of oracle and tarot decks, I really enjoy them. :)
